New Sergent Coupler
« on: November 25, 2013, 12:38:59 PM »
I just noticed a new product on the Sergent web site, they are making an HO scale Sharon coupler.  Here is a link to their main site.

Have any of you had a chance to check these out?  I'm going to place an order for a package or two and the assembly fixture.  I'll post a rundown after I get them and have a chance to try them out.

according to what I've read on the Yahoo group, they are metal & work fine with 714s.

I have three packages of the RNB87K couplers, and the recommended assembly jig, on order.

I'll be sure to post a writeup once I've received them and had a chance to run a few tests.  I'll test their interoperability with the Sergent Type E and the KD 714s that come installed on Blackstone equipment.

Thanks Vernon, looking forward to it.
You're welcome.

I just checked the tracking number I received earlier today, the package should arrive Monday.   I expect to post my initial report Monday evening or Tuesday morning, with a more complete report by the weekend.

I apologize for the long delay in my report on these couplers.  I've had to put hobby related activities on a back burner for quite a while.  Things are starting to get back to normal and I hope to have my report soon.

Again, I apologize for the delay.

I remember first seeing Sargent couplers when Tim from fastracks had some extensive videos on them. The sparked my interest then but never made it to any of my rolling stock. Its probably something i should take more cage with since most of my stock has coupler heights all over the place.

Do many of you guys here spend a lot of time checking coupler heights?
Cheers Adrian
